About Us
Titan Radio is California State University, Fullerton’s official radio station. We host over 70 student and faculty on-air DJs per semester. Our staff has worked tirelessly since 2000 to mould Titan Radio into a creative outlet for a vast array of different people. Along with our 24/7 broadcast, we also host events, post online articles, and actively interact with our listeners through social media.
If you would like to get involved, visit us in PLS-51, located in the southern basement of Pollak Library. Our station is open to the public. We also encourage you to follow our social media accounts (@titanradio) for all upcoming ticket giveaways, announcements, and events.
Our Mission
Titan Radio’s mission is to operate a radio station that showcases the diverse voices of CSUF and provides experiential learning in various communications fields.
Meet Our Team
Matt Sylvester is the only full-time staff member on the team, serving as Titan Radio’s coordinator. He graduated in May 2019 from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s degree in American studies and a minor in journalism. He is returning to academia in Fall 2020 to pursue a Master’s degree in American studies. Matt plans to keep his career in higher education for many years to come. He’s hoping that after he graduates from his Master’s program, he will be able to teach part-time at a university or a local community college. In his free time, Matt enjoys snowboarding, playing video games, reading comics, shooting film photography, thrift shopping, and learning more about the natural environment.
This semester, Shelby Stancliff is taking on the role as General Manager of Titan Radio. She is going on her fourth semester of DJing at the station, and previously served as a Marketing Intern. She is a junior at CSUF double majoring in Communications with a concentration in Entertainment and Tourism as well as Cinema and Television Arts. One day, she hopes to work on the set of a TV show, preferably a sitcom, or work at BuzzFeed. When not working for Titan Radio or Target, Shelby spends time with her dog Maya, dyes her hair, makes smoothies, sews, watches baking shows, and does some online window shopping.
Areeba Kaukab is the Communications and Campus Outreach director whose goals are to connect with people around school. This will be her third semester being a DJ and is excited to record shows this coming semester. Areeba is a Human Communications Major and is hoping to eventually go to Law School to start her career in social justice work. She loves to explore different forms of media and tends to gravitate towards a multitude of different genres. When away from work and school she likes to binge-watch everything in sight, try out new restaurants around town, thrift shop, and tries to be as well informed on current events as possible. Her favorite artists that have been on repeat the past couple of months have been Billy Joel, The Killers, and Kendrick Lamar.
Jon Buzdar is the Music Coordinator of Titan Radio and a Junior at CSUF. He is very passionate about journalism and is currently studying broadcast journalism, hoping to work for National Public Radio one day. He is the host and creator of The Double Life Podcast, as well as a published and award-winning author of several travel feature stories about his home country of Pakistan. Jon has had the fortune of interviewing many artists locally and internationally as well as his heroes. In his free time, Jon is often reading short stories, watching documentary films, exploring new music, and learning more about other cultures and people.
Kshitij Shah is the Webmaster for Titan Radio and a graduate student at Cal State Fullerton. This is his third semester with Titan Radio. He is a Computer Science Major. Planning to graduate in Fall 2020, his goal is to get a job as a Front-end Developer. His favorite musical artists are Linkin Park, Coldplay, Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC. Kshitij loves spending time with his friends, cooking, listening to music, hiking, camping, going on road trips and playing his guitar. He is also very enthusiastic about designing websites.
Landy Waight is an Entertainment and Hospitality Management student at CSUF. When he graduates, Landy hopes to work in the music industry. This semester, he will serve as the Marketing Director for Titan Radio. He will also host his own radio show titled “The Waight List” for the second semester in a row. Landy’s show is a reflection of his diverse music taste which ranges from Chief Keef to Miles Davis. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing basketball, golfing, hiking, eating dank food, taking pictures, and listening to records.
Michael Quintero is a Communications major with an emphasis in Journalism and serving as the Program Director at Titan Radio. This will be Michael’s fourth semester with Titan Radio and is also the Managing Editor for Tusk Magazine. He will be graduating this semester, and his plans are to work in the magazine industry as a writer and a creative. For music taste, his genre range is diverse from The Beatles, Bones, Xavier Wulf, Thee Oh Sees, Boy Harsher, and Bob Seger to name a few. While not at school he is either playing video games, skateboarding, surfing, shooting photos, listening to records, or chilling and drinking a cold one.
Andrea Carvajal is the communications and campus outreach intern for Titan Radio this semester. Her major is communications with an emphasis in journalism, she is also obtaining a minor in political science. She is graduating this semester and hopes to work for Vice News or any investigative reporting as a broadcast journalist. Her main goal is to travel and work in New York City. In her free time she plays with her dog, Flash, who is a rescue. She also loves to go on hikes, traveling, discovering new shows to binge watch, and is always down for a good margarita or michelada.
Bianca Lambert is the communications and campus outreach intern for Titan Radio. She is majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a Radio-Audio certificate and is excited to intern at Titan Radio for her last semester at CSUF. She is hoping to become a late night sex radio talk show host talking about sexual communication or an anchor for any Entertainment outlet. Bianca loves being with her family, going to the river, meeting new people and loves being open about her sexuality and talking about sex. She recently started a podcast called Dirty Talk, where she talks about sex, dating and relationships… “with the dos’ and the don'ts and the tips and the tricks!” Tune in on Titan Radio!
Luna is a marketing intern for Titan Radio and will also be hosting Heart & Soul on the station. She is majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Entertainment and Tourism and hopes to open her own club and/or record store after receiving her degree. When she is not attending performances or visiting record stores, Luna enjoys meeting new people, wire-wrapping rocks, smelling flowers, and experiencing sunsets. Born in Mexico City, Luna also loves learning about her culture which has inspired her to learn more about other cultures. She encourages self-discovery and self-love.
Grace Luong is the Marketing Intern for Titan Radio for the Fall semester. She is a Junior majoring in Business Marketing and is in the process of obtaining a Digital Media certificate at CSUF. Grace is excited for what the future holds, as she shoots to work at a record label or organizations, such as The Recording Academy. With music running through her veins, Grace has danced many styles over the past 10 years, and still tries to find the time to take classes. Also in her free time, Grace works on her photography and editing skills, relearning to play the piano, and doing physical activities.
Julian Romero is the Music Intern for Titan Radio and a Senior at CSUF. He is a Communications student with an emphasis in Entertain and Tourism and recently completed the Radio-Audio certificate program offered by CSUF. Julian has no idea what is in store for him in the future but is hopeful that he can work in the music or musical instrument industry. When not working in construction or for Titan Radio, Julian enjoys his free time by working on 1974 Chevy El Camino, building and playing his own guitars, recording music, and operating soundboard for his friends’ bands.
Marissa De La Cruz is currently a junior majoring in Cinema and Television Arts with a minor in Creative Writing. She is the programming intern for Titan Radio while also hosting her show “Live on Mars” (formerly “Marsi’s Jukebox”) for a third semester. She hopes one day to publish a poetry book and produce/ write her own television series or a film. On her free time she plays her ukulele, write poetry, go thrift shopping, listen to records, and drink lots of coffee. She also likes road trips, discovering new artists, and anything spooky or vintage.
Sazeda Sultana is the Web intern for Titan Radio and a graduate student with the major of Software Engineering. She recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor of Science in Informatics. She is mostly interested in the career of a software engineer, a frontend developer, or a UI/UX designer. Her favorite music artists are Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears. Sazeda loves creative works. She loves to design and cook. Cooking is her stress-relieving activity. She finds lots of creativity in cooking.
William Maurice-Africa is a Program Intern for Titan Radio and a Senior at Cal State Fullerton. This is William’s second semester with Titan Radio and is the host for the Catch-the-Rerun show. He is a Cinema and Television Arts Major and Journalism minor. Planning to graduate next year, his goal is to get a job at a news station in the field of broadcast journalism whether it be lighting, sound, or research. His favorite musical artists are David Bowie, Red Vox, The Isley Brothers, The Stylistics, and Kirby’s Dream Band. When not working, Will enjoys hanging with friends, skating, drawing, sewing, listening to music, playing video games, traveling, and overall enjoying all that life has to offer.
