Cozy Spice gives you her thoughts on three songs she has never head before.

“Deja Vu” by Souly Had

My first reaction to the song was very relaxing. I thought the song would simply be an instrumental, but the vocals definitely took me by surprise. As the song went on, a bass kicked in. That element of the song was something I wasn’t expecting and added an extra but great little spice to the song. The singer’s vocals have a raspiness to it that you would think wouldn’t fit with this kind of vibe, but his vocals are smooth enough for them to fit in. I love the mix of piano and hip hop elements. I really liked the overall vibe of the sound! I feel that this song would be great to listen to on a night drive. If you liked this song, here are threes songs that sound similar that I would recommend:

  • “Habit” by Still Woozy
  • “Tribe” by Bas feat. J. Cole
  • “Thunder” by Roy Blair

“Night Running” by Cage the Elephant and Beck

I was not aware of the Cage The Elephant and Beck collabed, so this was a pleasant surprise! I would never have pictured Cage The Elephant and Beck teaming up to do a reggae type of song, but with these two amazing artists teaming up, I knew that this would be a great song within the first 30 seconds of the song. They still include elements of classic alternative rock during the chorus, and the mix of reggae and alternative works out very nicely. This song is a different approach to there two’s styles, but I think that it’s also a perfect mix of both of them at the same time. If you liked this song, here are three songs that sound similar that I would recommend:

  • “Nighttiming” by Coconut Records
  • “Lane Boy” by Twentyone Pilots
  • “While I’m Alive” by STRFKR

“Miracles” by Stalking Gia and Blackbear

As soon as the song started playing, I already knew I was going to like it. Stalking Gia has really unique vocals, and her voice is very soothing. I also liked the switch up of the instrumentals. When Blackbear’s part came on, I wasn’t expecting his voice to sound as nice as it did. I have heard of Blackbear, but this was the first time I’ve ever heard him sing. For some reason, I was expecting him to have a rougher sounding voice, but his voice is very smooth and fits this type of music perfectly. If you liked this song, here are three songs that sound similar that I would recommend:

  • “idontwannabeyouanymore” by Billie Eilish
  • “Summer Bummer” by Lana Del Rey feat. A$AP Rocky
  • “I Am” by Jorja Smith

Listen to my show, “A Little Bit of Everything” every Thursday at 5 P.M.!
